We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
1 John 3:16
Our mission is simple: Be The Hands and Feet of Jesus. This year our theme is…Love Is.
Love Is… Providing
Love Is… Care
Love Is… Meeting Needs In the Community
Love Is… Jesus
We serve and share Jesus because He first loved us. As we look ahead to the week, we have already seen the many refining moments of God upon the team. Our team continued to ebb and flow even as we departed Chula Vista.
Unfortunately, one of our build leaders was unable to join us, but God sees the big picture. John and I also took a detour through Rosarito to pick up one of our interpreters from Grace Children’s Home.
I see God’s Hand at work. If I was not driving separately, we would have had to divert one of the vans to cover the trip. It is fun to see God moving us around to prepare us and build us.

Build Sites & Families
Tonight, we met our families and they are wonderful. As I stood on the outside of the circle looking in, I saw the eyes of gratefulness and joy.

The eyes told a story that words could never express. Their eyes danced with the realization that tomorrow we would begin creating a home for them.
For the Garay Family, we have an opportunity to kick off the build of a custom designed home for the Creative Director of YUGO. Each nail that is hammered will move them closer to their dream of owning their own home for their family.

As I watched the Perez-Lopez Family, the realization that life was about to change was evident as they shared their story of struggle. Each team member was hand selected by our Creator to be a blessing in the life of this family.

The speaker in the evening chapel shared,
“You are not just building a house for them, you are destroying an entire mountain for them.” — Pastor Ray
When does a house become a home?
When does a house become a life-changing moment?

God has positioned us this week to help destroy mountains for the Perez-Lopez Family and to encourage the Garay Family as they invest in their future.

We are excited to be the Hands and Feet of Jesus this week as we get ready to destroy mountains and share the power of Christ’s redemption.
Thank you, Marijo and Caleb, for your commitment to be Jesus’ hands and feet this week. I’m proud of your compassion for others and the many ways you disciple throughout the year. I pray for your success in this venture. Dad
